Spiral Discharge Electrode is utilized in electrostatic precipitators to remove particles from gas streams. It consists of a central rod with a spiral wire wrapped around it. As the gas passes through the spiral wire, it generates a corona discharge, which charges the particles in the gas stream. Moreover, this electrode can be utilized in a variety of applications, including power generation, cement production, and pulp and paper manufacturing. Apart from that, this electrode also requires a higher voltage to generate the corona discharge than other types of electrodes, which can increase energy consumption and maintenance costs.
